This mod adds a new block Petrified Wood. This block spawns mainly in the desert, and spawn usually one block high mostly by itself, sometimes rarely in groups of a few.  This wood also spawns in  the ground and in stone, spawns rarely in trees.

Unlike Petrified Chert from Chert Craft, Petrified Wood doesn’t spawn as a leaf block. Petrified Wood can be crafted into an axe and spear. A bit more powerful than iron, but not as powerful as its chert counterpart. You can also put it in the furnace to get Carbonized Wood which is used just like coal and is lasts twice as long as coal, but again, is less powerful than its chert counterpart. (which makes it mesh better if you use both mods)  You can craft the petrified wood into two sticks.

Item dropped – Petrified Wood: (drops in random amounts, use in furnace to get carbonized wood)
Carbonized Wood: (As good as two pieces of coal)
Petrified Wood Axe: (320 uses)
Petrified Wood Spear: (320 uses, Can also mine with it)

How to Install Desert Petrified Wood Mod for Minecraft 1.5.2:

• For World save file

1. Download Desert Petrified Wood Mod
2. On windows this can be easily done by opening up the command line, accessible by Windows+R and then typing “%appdata%/.minecraft/saves/” into the command line. (If you’re on a Mac, your save files are in: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves/)
3. This will open the saves folder where all the your worlds are stored. Once in that folder all you have to do is paste your downloaded save in
4. Drag your downloader (after unzip) in the zip folderMap into saves folder
5. Close all windows and open Minecraft
6. Select map and play.

• For schematic file

1. Download schematic file
2. You have MCEdit – Minecraft Woldr Editer installed
3. Open the MCEdit and select the world from the list that you would like to add the schematic to (If none are on the list you will have to click the “Open a Level..” text and find it in the file browser.)
4. You need to click the import button (little red crane) on the bottom right, find the schematic in the file browser and click open
5. After you place it in a good spot, click the import button to complete the operation.
