The Lord of the Rings Mod is a huge expansion planned for Minecraft that will aim to add the world of Middle-earth into the game. This will include content from J.R.R.Tolkien’s most famous work, the Lord of the Rings, and from other related tales such as the Hobbit and the Silmarillion.

Seamless multiplayer integration right from the start

How to install The Lord of the Rings: Middle-earth Mod for Minecraft 1.6.2:

Client installation instructions (for Minecraft 1.6 and later):

Download the correct installer version of Minecraft Forge
Run the installer and select ‘install client’
Download the mod
Place the mod zip file into the mods folder in .minecraft (if there isn’t a mods folder, create one)
Run the Minecraft launcher with the Forge profile selected and enjoy the mod!

Server installation instructions (for Minecraft 1.6 and later):

Download the correct installer version of Minecraft Forge
Run the installer and select ‘install server’, making sure you have specified the location of your server folder
Download the mod
Place the mod zip file into the mods folder in the server folder (if there isn’t a mods folder, create one)
Run the ‘minecraftforge-universal’ jar file (not the normal server jar file) and enjoy the mod!
